Zlatko Krmpotic has praised striker Lazarus Kambole for seizing the opportunity and showing his worth in last two matches he has featured for Zesco United.
Kambole has scored 3 goals in two games for Zesco to help them make a bright start to the 2017 FAZ Super Division campaign.
Zlatko said he is hoping to see more from Kambole who has been on the fringes of the team since joining Zesco from Konkola Mine Police in
2014.
“Lazzy is playing good and he helps out in the midfield and is scoring goals. It is a big surprise for me but also a good surprise,” Zlatko said.
Kambole’s first goal came on  April 19 in Zesco’s 2-0 home win over Konkola Blades when he struck in the 45th minutes with the opening goal just four minutes after coming on for midfielder Mwape Mwelwa.
Last Saturday, Kambole scored a brace in Zesco’s 4-1 demolition of Nchanga Rangers to top the scorers log on three goals.
Zlatko added he is now not getting sleepless nights with Kambole
delivering following the lengthy injury absence of striker Jackson
Mwanza and most recently illness to John Chingandu.
“It is not a problem. Jackson is a good and experienced player I can’t
wait for him to come back,” Zlatko said.
Zlatko however, cautioned that pragmatism rather than trial-and-error
will dictate his player rotation policy especially in attack.
“We have games for Jackson, I have games for Lazzy, I have games for
(Patrick) Kongolo, I have games for (Maybin) Kalengo,” Zlatko said.
“We must give the young players chance but it is not easy to give
chances to every player.
“I will try and give three or two players chances not any more than that.”
