Zlatko Krmpotic has demanded that Zesco United must show the same mentality in the league after qualifying to the group stage of the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup.
Zesco downed Enugu Rangers 3-0 on Saturday night at home in Ndola thanks to a John Chingandu brace in the 24th and 38th minutes while Jesse Were added the final goal in the 62nd minute.
The result saw Zesco advance 5-2 on aggregate to next month’s group stage of the Confederation Cup.
Saturday’s victory came six days after Zesco rallied from 2-0 down away at Rangers to finish 2-2 on April 9 in Enugu thanks to two goals in the last 20 minutes of the second half from David Owino and Patrick Kongolo to keep their group stage hopes alive.
“I said before the game that I wanted one goal more than the draw and we did this at home,” Krmpotic said.
“Congratulations to my players and thanks to our opponents for giving us a good game.
“But we have to continue to keep the same momentum after this game in the league.”
