Zesco United battle homeside Wydad Casablanca of Morocco for top spot in Group A in the 2016 CAF Champions League when they meet on Wednesday night in Rabat.

The two sides cross swords in the clash for the number one spot in Group A.

Zesco currently lead Group A on 3 points, tied with the Moroccans who are second on goal difference.

George Lwandamina’s side arrived in Morocco on a high in the competition after downing record eight-time champions Al Ahly of Egypt 3-2 on match day one on June 18 at home in Ndola.

1992 champions Wydad also made a good start to their Group A campaign on June 18 winning 1-0 away at ASEC Mimosa in Abidjan.

And Zesco take on a Wydad side that is unbeaten in CAF competition since 2003.

“It will be more psychological because the boys have matured enough to handle the Arabs but the only difference is playing away from home but the boys are ready,” Lwandamina said.

Zesco are at full strength heading into the game but striker Idris Mbombo, who has four Champions League goals, did not travel due to a back injury.

The good news is striker striker Jesse Were and defender Ben Banh back and available for selection after serving their one match suspensions for accruing two yellow cards each in the knockout rounds.

Winner on Wednesday is assured to be in command until match-day three on July 18.

Meanwhile, the other Group A match between Al Ahly and ASEC was scheduled for Tuesday evening in Cairo.
