Zesco United will set up a ten-day training camp in South Africa immediately after their week-long camp in Mongu that started on Wednesday.

The 2017 FAZ Super Division champions left for Mongu on January 17 were they will spend seven days.

Zesco will later leave for South Africa from Lusaka on January 25 where they will set up base in Johannesburg.

“We are travelling to Mongu to intensify our conditioning,” coach Tenant Chembo said.

“Thereafter we will go to South Africa for ten days to continue our pre-season training and refine the team there as part of the continuation from our Mongu trip.”

Chembo added that a friendly against a South African club will be a bonus but admits that tight SA PSL schedules may not allow them to secure a high profile training game while in Johannesburg.

Zesco will upon returning from South Africa fly out to Zanzibar on February 5 ahead of their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, first leg match against JKU to be played during the weekend of February 12.

Meanwhile, midfielders John Chingandu and Misheck Chaila who missed the 2018 CHAN tournament due to injuries have returned to training.

Chaila and Chingandu are part of the travelling party to Mongu and South Africa.
