Zesco United management is excited to have sealed the K1.7 million shirt deal with pan-African bank Altasmara.
The two parties unveiled the biggest shirt deal in the league on Thursday in a ceremony held at InterContinental Hotel in Lusaka.
Also part of the deal includes a K50, 000 tie-in for Zesco United’s annual players’ awards.
ZESCO Limited Managing Director Victor Mundende said in a speech read on his behalf by Fidelis Mubiana that they were proud that the 2017 FAZ Super Division champions were moving effectively towards being a self-sustainable club.
“We are happy that slowly the club is developing ideas that will enable it to operate as a separate entity from the corporation and generate money on its own,” Mundende said.
“ZESCO United Football club has represented the name of the corporation proudly and I would urge them to do the same to AtlasMara.”
The ZESCO MD said the company is looking forward to a very successful season both on the domestic front and in continental football.
“I also want to encourage the team to continue working hard so that at the end of the year we will be celebrating a number of achievements, which will be defending the league, winning the Barclay Cup, the Charity shield and winning the Champions league as per set targets,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zesco United chairman Webster Musonda said the club was very excited to be partnering with Atlasmara.
Musonda also assured Zesco Limited management of success following the signing of the deal.
“The Shirt sponsorship does not only cater for only for the teams jerseys but also for replicas and developmental team jerseys,” Musonda said.
“Our replicas are sold across the country, meaning we will also be marketing our shirt sponsor.
“We are happy as ZESCO United FC because this shirt sponsorship launch has come just a few months after extending our contract with our Kit sponsor UMBRO.
The club has the biggest technical kit sponsorship in the Country and we are happy to have Atlasmara name on our outfits.”
