Zesco United captain and goalkeeper Jacob Banda has described the teams 2017 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal exist as painful.
Zesco drew 2-2 at home with South African opponents SuperSport United on September 23 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to exit on away goals rule via the same aggregate scoreline.
“This is a painful exit for us,” Banda said.
“The blame is on us and not the coaches.
“We lacked concentration in the last minute.
“Morale is low but football is like that .”
Zesco now turn their attention back to domestic business .
Zega’s first post-continental engagement comes on Wednesday when they commence their defence of the Barclays Cup.
Zesco will visit tournament debutants Kitwe United in a quarterfinal fixture at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
