Zesco United return to action on Saturday seeking to maintain their early season momentum when they host Nchanga Rangers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The five-time champions head into the match seeking a six-pointer after beating Konkola Blades 2-0 last Wednesday at the same venue in their rescueduled Week 1 match.
A win this weekend will be a big boost for Zesco ahead of next Sunday’s big Copperbelt derby showdown away to Nkana in Kitwe.
Striker’s Jesse Were and Idris Mobombo who scored in the 3-1 home win over Rangers last season will be hoping lighting can strike twice at Levy Stadium.
There is also good news for Zesco will midfielder Misheck Chaila back and expected to start his second match after marking his return from a three-week injury layoff in the 2-0 win over Konkola Blades.
But Zesco will be without in-form striker John Chingandu who also scored in that last home win and 2-1 away victory in Chingola last term.
Chingandu and midfielder Kondwani Mtonga have been rested by coach Zlatko Krmpotic after pulling out of midweek clash against Blades with illness.
Meanwhile, history is on Zesco’s side heading into the match after winning all their last eight league meetings dating back to November, 2013.
However, Rangers will come to Ndola on a high after beating Nkana 1-0 at home in Chingola last weekend and will habour ambitious thoughts of another big kill seven days later.
