Zesco United coach Tenant Chembo says they will not underrate their 2018 CAF Champions League preliminary stage opponents JKU of Zanzibar.
The 2016 CAF Champions League semi-finalists will make their debut continental trip to Zanzibar in February to kickoff their quest for an unprecedented third group successive group stage appearance in CAF inter-club competition.
“All the draws are tough until you cross the hurdle,”Chembo said.
“We have to work very hard with each game that we play.
“Playing in the Champions League is tough and we have to respect all our opponents.
“Our aim is to just work very hard so that we move to the next round.
“Overall we also have to manage and prepare very well because there will be travelling for games in a very short space of time between both legs and that is very critical.”
Zesco will visit Zanzibar during the weekend of February 11.
The2017 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinalist will later host JKU on February 18 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Should Zesco successfully, negotiate their way past JKU, will either make their now traditional continental trip to Cote d’Ivoire to face their 2016 Champions League group stage opponents ASEC Mimosa or take on latter’s preliminary round opponent from Benin who are yet to be named.
Winner will advance to the group stage of the 2018 CAF Champions League.
