Zesco United have eight players away on duty during the October FIFA international match week for their respective national teams.
Five of those players alone are with Zambia away in Nigeria to play a 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier in Uyo.
Defenders Fackson Kapumbu and Simon Silwimba including midfielders Misheck Chaila, Kondwani Mtonga and John Ching’andu are in Zambia’s
23-member team for the must-win Group B qualifier on October 7.
Also out on international duty are the three Kenyan players led by defender David Owino who will captain The Harambee Stars again on October 5 in a friendly away to Iraq in Basra.
Owino will captain in Kenya in the absence of Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder who is still out recovering from a pre-season injury.
Striker Jesse Were and midfielder Anthony Akumu are also in Iraq for the friendly.
However, the Burundi duo of goalkeeper Dieudonne Ntibahezwa and midfielder Enock Sabamukama have no international obligations and are training with Zesco in Ndola.
