Dave  Daka says Zesco United should not be discounted as prime contenders for the 2017  FAZ Super Division title.
The five-time champions, who finished 2nd in  2016, are currently 8th on 23 points, eleven behind leaders Napsa Stars after 13 and 17 games played respectively.
Zesco’s backlog has come about because of their 2017  CAF Confederation Cup obligations since March.
“It is too early to know who’s going to win it but as far as Zesco United is concerned, we will push it to the end,”  Daka said.
Daka joined  Zesco from Zanaco  this season on a permanent deal.
“I am very happy here since I joined Zesco. Everything is going on well and I think  God  for that,”Daka said.
“And as the season progresses,  I hope together with the team, that things will turn out clearer in the next few months.”
Daka  is currently away  on 2018  CHAN  qualifier duty with Chipolopolo who host  Swaziland in Lusaka on July 22 in a first round, final leg tie leading 4-0 from the first leg on July 16.
Meanwhile,Zesco  return to league action this  week for the first time since July 9 when they host Green Eagles on July 23  at Levy  Mwanawasa  Stadium in Ndola.
